In 2014, Cancer Connection officially merged with The Care Communities. We look forward to continuing and growing all of the Cancer Connection programs including Peer Matches, clinical visitations and hospital visitations for those with cancer as well as providing support for their care givers and loved ones as well as the H.O.P.E. Fund.
Peer Matches for Patients and Family
If you or a loved one have been diagnosed with cancer and would like to talk with someone who has experienced a similar diagnosis or situation, Cancer Connection can match you with a trained volunteer. To learn more about our one-on-one matching program please contact Linda Richards, at 512-459-5883 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
To apply for a match with a Cancer Connection volunteer, please fill out our Peer Match Application.
Become A Volunteer
In addition to one-on-one mentoring through our Peer Match program, our volunteers visit with patients in local oncology centers and hospitals. Through this unique service, volunteers are able to provide comfort, support and informational resources to cancer patients and their families. Prior to volunteer service, Cancer Connection volunteers attend a 10-hour training class designed to prepare volunteers to help others cope with the
physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of the cancer experience.
